The idea of "Pirmin Huber Swiss Folk" is to present original compositions based on components of Swiss Folk music such as Jütze, Stümpeli, Schottisch (both within Switzerland and abroad) in order to astound the audience with fascinating combinations of archaic Swiss Folk music and groovy pop/jazz.

Within the basic instrumental line-up of "Pirmin Huber Swiss Folk" Pirmin Huber is flexibel. With his acoustic bass as the focus, Pirmin Huber skillfully elicits both earthy, archaic sounds as well as groovy, innovative and unusual textures and tone colors with his tremendously expressive joy of playing.

For musicians with a Swiss Folk music background, impromptu play is common way of music making. Pirmin Huber uses this technique light-handedly as a link with his double bass between archaic and innovative sound elements in his compositions. This allows him to build "Pirmin Huber Swiss Folk" on a basic instrumentation (double bass, piano, violin, drums), but also to enrich it with the Schwyzerörgeli, accordion, Büchel (small Swiss alphorn), yodeling and other Swiss Folk music instruments.
